Storage Solutions
From the design and planning stage, through construction and commissioning and further during operation and maintenance, we can help you with identifying and providing the necessary economical solution by a variety of storage applications and projects.
C&I / Micro-Grid
C&I – Industrial and Commercial end user
Municipalities / Kibbutzim / Communities / Local Authorities / Governmental Companies / Desalination plants / Wastewater plants / self-consumption of Power Plants
Energy storage facilities located behind the meter (e.g., in factories, kibbutzim, and local authorities) can enhance local production (e.g., solar production) and optimize the use of the existing grid while increasing energy independence and savings.
For example, if it’s a kibbutz with an certified electricity distribution and management capabilities ( Distributor), the storage facility can be situated within the area of responsibility of that distributor, just before the connection point between the distributor grid and the electric company’s grid. The Ministry of Energy’s policy regarding energy independence and its support for environmental protection through the transition of facilities to green energy sources provide a strong foundation for implementing Energy Storage systems which the distribution zone. These policies are reflected in various stakeholders’ endorsements.
Utility Scale
In front of the meter – Energy storage systems connected to the distribution or transmission grid line (medium to high voltage grid line)
Applicable apps
Arbitrage, demand management, demand deviation, frequency stabilization, replacement or delay of grid upgrades reserves, ancillary services
The modern grid management is facing more challenges than before. Increasing demand for electricity , demand and supply gaps between pick and off pick demand hours, increasing penetration of reneable and distributed energy, retirement of old coal power plans , high investment and to execute new grid reinforcement
Energy storage systems can be the enabler and solver of these issues,
These solutions can address energy shifting by storing energy generated during the day and releasing it during peak demand hours in the evening. Energy storage facilities also have the capability to operate immediately and adjust their production capacity rapidly to meet the system operator’s requirements.
Therefore, establishing renewable energy generation capacity, coupled with the deployment of energy storage facilities, allows for efficient energy storage during available hours and contributes to meeting daily load requirements. Energy storage facilities can also serve as an alternative or defer investments in the development and upgrade of the grid.
Renewable Plus Storage
Coupled or Co- Located Renewable Energy (Solar & Wind) to Storage
Applicable apps
Arbitrage, demand management and deviation, backup enhancing network stability at the customer’s site, frequency stabilization/management, ramp-up control and generation smoothing.
The integration of renewable energy sources in Israel and around the world poses challenges to the electrical grid.
These challenges include the need to transfer energy from generation hours (off-pick hours such as sunlight hours) to peak demand hours and the ability to respond to system operator needs to manage fluctuations in electricity supply resulting from weather changes (e.g., cloud cover affecting solar generation).
As a result, regulators in Israel and globally are promoting the integration of energy storage systems with renewable energy generation. BLEnergy was the first to plan supply and deploy the first combined solar and storage facility in Israel for Doral Energy, and continue to bring online more projects in scale of hunder of Mwh , providing solutions to the leading renewable IPPs.
